Traditional craftsmanship and quality from Indonesia! All furniture is handmade in Indonesia. Each product has its own unique characteristics and complies with the highest quality, something we see very little nowadays. Because of this way of working every piece of furniture is exclusive and unique.
All materials used are sustainably cultivated and also comply with the Indonesian Legal Wood Hallmark. TEAK2 has a unique offering white furniture and teak furniture in country and modern styles. The white furniture (or other colors) are often hand painted or sprayed and made of Mindi wood. Mindi wood, often also called Durian wood, is a type of wood that has strong similarities with teak. The wide range of teak furniture gives you a choice of different styles and treatments: treated, untreated, new teak, old teak, brushed, smooth and more.
All wood is sustainably grown in Indonesia, Java and comes from recycling or plantation teak. Ecological and Indonesian Legal Wood Hallmark! This quality mark is issued by the Indonesian government. The teakwood must meet all requirements to be ecologically responsible. A controlled way to use teak, to export it legally and to think for the future. The (brushed) old teak wood is always recycled at TEAK2. This wood is a lot heavier and has a robust character. Not only the appearance, but also the sustainable reuse is a choice that is becoming increasingly important. Reuse is certainly not inferior to the end product, but gives it its own charm. Every product will only be delivered or produced when it meets the high requirements.
The recycled wood often comes from Indonesian houses, old fishing boats and railway sleepers which have become superfluous. By buying these, it gives the local population the opportunity to build a new stone house. In addition to thrift, this also creates a better living environment. Finally, we are also committed by supporting local and social projects such as building new schools and sports facilities.
TEAK2 only uses wood of the highest quality! Therefore, always compare well and honestly when purchasing a teak product. Check whether the products are filled, hollow or solid, feel and experience the wood, check its construction and weight. Only high quality furniture is not enough for TEAK2, so the sustainable process is something that is very important to us. By keeping fixed costs as low as possible, TEAK2 is able to offer this quality at very competitive prices. In addition to the competitive and transparent prices, it is also important to give a good impression online. All furniture can be consulted through the webshop. Clear pictures that show details and features truthfully. Finally, we are often told that the furniture looks even better in real life! 😉
Are you looking for something different or something specific? A piece of furniture with a small adjustment or a completely new creation? Custom made furniture is also possible at TEAK2! From small adjustments to large and complete designs, there is always the possibility of customization. Despite the fact that every piece of furniture is unique, you can go one step further and turn your own idea into reality. Keep in mind that there is a surcharge and a delivery time of approximately 16 weeks. Contact TEAK2 for more information or visit the showroom.
Teak comes from the deciduous tree Tectona Grandis from the tropics. It is a wood species with a very fine wood structure and oily juices that give the wood, both untreated and treated, a beautiful, warm appearance. Because teak is a greasy type of wood, teak naturally has a good protective layer, making it a very easy wood species to maintain. Cleaning can always be done with a damp cloth or every now and then with green soap. Special oils are not necessary, but can always be applied later. Teak is a durable, very stable and strong wood species that retains its authentic and lively appearance for a long time.
This type of wood is light (bright) in colour and always smooth in structure. Untreated teak is sanded uniformly smooth and is therefore not by definition automatic plantation teak. The teak used by TEAK2 comes 95% of the time from high-quality recycled teak. The smooth structure gives the furniture a sleek, modern look.
Untreated teakwood can have different shades of colour depending on the natural conditions: origin, climate, soil, age. This teak can also have a reddish-brown tint such as the Teak Baru series or an orange tint such as the Teak Jingga series.
The old teak can also be brushed. Brushing is a lengthy process in which the soft wood is brushed away. This treatment gives the already lived wood with character an even more robust appearance and structure. Moreover, it looks very exclusive and rural! The brushed teak comes from recycling. By brushing, the natural oils come to the surface which gives it a lighter colour than old teak.
Old teak is heavier than plantation teak and also the oldest wood. It has a denser structure partly because it has experienced different conditions for years. Old teak always comes from recycling and has a lived, exclusive character. In terms of colour, the teak is dark in tone and also has a beautiful lived-through structure. It is the most expensive and luxurious treatment in which the soft wood is brushed away and then treated. The old teak can have a black as well as a white grain.
Mindi wood, also sometimes called Durian wood has strong similarities with teak. Because teak is a very greasy type of wood, it is very difficult to treat with paint. This type of wood, on the other hand, contains no greasy substances, the adhesion is a lot better which makes it a lot more suitable for coloured furniture. Mindi wood also comes from Indonesia. Finally, you can choose between different colours, methods or combinations.
The hand-painted way is also called brushing or liming. It is softer in structure than the luxury spray-painted version and is also slightly rougher in structure. By applying brush-stripes, it is a beautiful structure, especially in rural models.
The spray-painted luxury technique is often used in both rural and modern furniture. It is a luxury treatment with a hard, tight structure. Despite the fact that the furniture is sprayed in color it retains its characteristic wood grain structure! This is unique!
The largest selection of coloured furniture consists of white furniture: white buffet cabinets, sideboards, TV furniture and more! The white furniture is mainly divided into traffic white (RAL 9016), signal white (RAL 9003) and white (RAL 9010). Other RAL colours are also possible. Usually there are regularly coloured furniture in grey-green, telegrey, anthracite, black or other colours in stock. These 'special' colours are often very chic and stylish in an interior! For custom made furniture can also be made in the desired color.
In addition to one treatment, it is often combined. The combination of white furniture with brown teak or Antique finish is a nice example of this. The combination of white and teak gives the furniture a warm, rustic look. Besides the combination of wood and color it is also possible to choose for Antique finish. With this technique, multiple colours are used and this is partly sanded away. Finally, the Antique finish can also consist of a single colour, so that when sanding, the wood structure partly comes to the surface.
